There may be times when a person is taught according to one intelligence – such as reading a book – when they prefer another intelligence – such as wanting a discussion. In these situations the learner is not stupid. They need to be taught, and to learn, in a different way.

So far we have seen that:

• You have a huge capacity to learn
• You have already learnt vast amounts of information
• Your beliefs (gremlins) sometimes block your ability to learn
• You will have your own preferred intelligences.

In the next Session you can take a look at some simple things you can do to get the most from your brain!

 

They:

• Assume that they will not be able to learn anything.
• Tell themselves they can't learn.
• Look for proof they can't learn anything.
• Call themselves names.
• Feel anxious or stressed in learning situations.
• Avoid situations where they may have to learn something new.
