More on intelligences

Click to see some of the occupations that may be associated with certain intelligences.

As you take a closer look at the examples of jobs, you may realise that to do most of them well requires the use of more than one intelligence. For example, an Actor may also need to move effectively (Bodily - Kinesthetic) and to understand his or her emotions (Intrapersonal). Likewise, a Painter and Decorator will need to be able to find out what customers want (Interpersonal) and make accurate measurements and calculations (Mathematical).

You will now see that the question at the beginning of this Session was a little misleading because all the people named will score highly on one or more intelligence. A person who does not score highly on verbal or mathematical intelligence is not unintelligent. They are likely to have different types of intelligence.
